Non-Rapid Eye Movement (NREM) Sleep
• Stage 1 - Transition to sleep
Duration: lasting from 5 to 10 minutes
Physically: Your eyes are closed.
In this stage, you can be easily awakened. However, if you are aroused from this stage of sleep, you may feel that you have not slept.
• Stage 2 - Light sleep
Duration: the next 10 to 25 minutes.
Physically: Your eye movement stops, and your muscles are relaxed. Your body temperature is lowered, and your heart rate is slowed.
At this stage, your body prepares to enter deep sleep.
• Stage 3 - Deep sleep
Duration for stages 3 & 4: the next 40 minutes
Physically: Your muscles are more relaxed. Your body temperature further decreases. Your heart rate is much slower. Your metabolic levels are extremely slow at this stage.
Your body repairs and regenerates tissues, builds bone and muscle, builds up energy, and boosts your immune system. Note that the most damaging effects of sleep deprivation are from inadequate deep sleep.
At this stage, you are completely asleep.
• Stage 4 - More intense deep sleep
Physically: Your brain waves are extremely slow. Your blood flow is directed away from the brain, and it is directed towards the muscles.
Like stage 3, your body is restoring physical energy. This is vital in maintaining your health, as well as stimulating growth and development.
This is the deepest stage of sleep. You are difficult to awaken at this stage. If you are awakened, you may feel disoriented for few minutes.
Note: The earlier sleep cycle has longer periods of NREM sleep. Later in the night, NREM time decreases. Each time the cycle repeats, you will spend lesser time in NREM sleep, and more time dreaming in REM stage.
Rapid Eye Movement (REM) Sleep
Why is it called Rapid Eye Movement sleep? In this stage, your eyes move back and forth, as if you are watching something from underneath your eyelids. That is why it is called Rapid Eye Movement sleep.

Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese wisdom handed down by the ancestors of the Chinese. It is a living skill in use by the Chinese emperors for many centuries. In those days the practice of Feng Shui by commoners were forbidden.
Today, Feng Shui is not only practiced by Chinese people, but, by all races throughout the world. Feng Shui is an ancient art of placement and living in harmony with the environment. It is not a religious practice, not a spiritual practice nor a magical practice.
